Recently, there have been two important changes in the immigration method that has been implemented in Canada for several years, and another way to get permanent residence in Canada, known as the pilot program for rural/remote northern areas:
1) The deadline for receiving recommendation letters from those areas has been extended
2) The capacity to accept letters of recommendation has increased
Features of this program:
1) Having a letter of recommendation from the mentioned areas
2) One year (consecutive) work experience in any field and from anywhere in the world, or graduation (more than a diploma from the mentioned areas)
3) The language level is measured according to the work experience, so a low language level is also acceptable for low-level jobs, so for example, while managers must show a language score of 6, delivery drivers need a language score of 4.
4) Having a job offer from the mentioned areas
5) Expressing the desire to live in those areas
6) Having banking facilities as follows:
Number of family members (including those you sponsor who are not immigrating with you) | Funds required (in Canadian dollars) |
1 | 8922 |
2 | 11107 |
3 | 13654 |
4 | 16579 |
5 | 18803 |
6 | 21207 |
7 or More | 23611 |
The following 11 communities are participating in the pilot:
- North Bay, Ontario
- Sudbury, Ontario

- Brandon, Manitoba
- Altona/Rhineland, Manitoba
